Here are some organizations I recommend giving your support to. These are just suggestions, so keep that in mind.

• ACLU
• Free Software Foundation
• Project Gutenberg
• Digital Consumer
• Distributed Proofreaders
• Local bands in your hometown
• Your local college or independent radio station
• Your favorite online comic strips
• Unsigned musicians online
• Artists you like
• An open source project you appreciate
• A weblog or news site that provides you with fresh, interesting stories daily
• Political candidates who will fight against the MPAA and RIAA or a technology-oriented political action committee

Remember, if you can't afford to donate money, your time is also valuable. You can:

• Volunteer for one of the groups above
• Create something and put it under a Creative Commons license
• Contribute to a free software project
• transcribe a page a day for Distributed Proofreaders

..and don't forget: you can speak out about the issues!
